I try to emulate the beauty my eyes soak up on every outing and adventure I find my self lucky enough to enjoy. These experiences are fleeting, just as (potentially) these landscapes are too. Capturing an image is my nostalgic yearning to preserve a moment of beauty, and tranquility. The world around me offers limitless avenues to pursue my passion and I am eager to see where my future takes me. I have always been interested in telling stories, and have been doing so through visual media since 2009.
I earned a BA from San Francisco State University in Cinema Studies with a focus in documentary filmmaking. I have an AA in Natural Sciences and a Certificate in Digital Filmmaking from the Santa Rosa Junior College.
My professional career started at Make: Magazine where I started as an intern and progressed to a staff photographer. Here I learned the demanding environment of a bi-monthly magazine and media company. It was a wonderful experience and my coworkers challenged me to become a better photographer everyday.
I then joined the creative team at Culture Pop Films. As a Cinematographer and Editor I learned the nuance of production workflows from beginning to end; honing my skill as a creative storyteller. Documentary, commercial and corporate work allowed me the opportunity to find inspiration and creativity within strict guidelines and big goals.
Then I became a Video Producer at Adam Savage’s Tested.com, working in a high output, fast paced production environment producing content for Internet and Television channels. I created an online series whose success resulted in syndication on various internet and television channels. Working with celebrities, creatives and craftspeople from all walks of life was a daily privilege.
Currently I am a freelance Director and Photographer based out of Santa Rosa, CA. My short doc “Taking the Reins” is screening in festivals now. I look forward to more docs and commercial work in the future.
